Sylvia I Bortner

Sylvia I Bortner, age 91, of Longview, WA passed away March 15, 2021 while living at Canterbury Gardens. Her funeral will be Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at 1 p.m. Graveside services will be at Longview Memorial Park.

Sylvia was born July 29, 1929 in Musselshell, Montana. She attended school in Roundup, Montana through the 8th grade at the age of 15.

She belonged to the Longview Nazarene Church for many years.

She was a nurse's aide at Cowlitz Convalescence Center for 24 years. It was there that she met her husband, Vincent J Bortner. They were married May 3, 1971. He preceded her in death. She also lost her son, Danial Warren, and parents, Marvin and Nina Carter.

Sylvia enjoyed being around family, friends and church family. She loved life to the fullest. She was always happy and making those around her laugh.

Sylvia loved to travel with her family to the beach, New York, and Hawaii. She also traveled with friends. She loved to play Skip-Bo with her Campus Tower friends and did she ever love to win. She always loved caring for people.

Sylvia is survived by her nieces, Kimberly Breen of Grants Pass, OR and Mary Lynn Rohr of Yelm, WA; and nephews, Michael Quick of Round Rock, TX and Edwin Quick of Vancouver, WA.
