Robert Allen Braaten
“Bobby”
November 14, 1946 - October 6, 2021
Bobby was born in Libby, Montana and is preceded in death by his parents Otto and Rose, brother Larry, son Timothy and his beloved Joann. He is survived by his brother Otto Jr. (Punky) and Russell, sister Diana and daughter Jody including step daughters, step sons, son in-laws, daughter in-laws and so many grandchildren, nieces and nephews it was hard for him to keep up!
Bobby served in Vietnam while in the Army and spoke often of his time there. His experience in the war shaped who he was and made a huge impact on how he lived his life. He loved his country and was a proud Veteran.
Bobby was a great Dad, Grandpa and friend to all who knew him. He was a jokester, flirt (especially with all the cute nurses that cared for him over the years) and onery as hell! He always had a good story to tell. When his grandchildren asked how he lost his fingers it was usually from an alligator, tiger or shark attack… he always kept them guessing. Western dancing, listening to western music, hunting, fishing, gardening, painting ceramics, and DIY projects were just a few ways he spent his time. He will also be remembered for his love of animals, especially horses and dogs.
Bobby had different occupations during his lifetime which included Commercial Truck Driver, Logging, Bakery Manager, Construction and all-around Handyman. Anytime anyone needed help with a project he usually knew what to do and would be there to help out.
Experiences shared with Bobby will remain in our heart’s everlasting. We are blessed to have been able to share our lives with him, as he was a good man who lived for his family. May he rest in peace.
No funeral is planned per Bobby’s request, however, there will be a Military Honor Guard Ceremony to be scheduled at a later date, all are welcome to attend.
