Mary Beryl Jordan

March 16, 1931 — October 10, 2021

Mary Beryl Jordan, 90, of Kalama, passed away Oct. 10, 2021, in Longview.

She was born March 16, 1931, in Scandia, Kan., to Charles and Zoe Jansen. The family moved to Kalama in 1940 and Mary graduated from Kalama High School. Mary served in the Air Force from 1952 to 1960 and retired from Bob’s Merchandise in Longview in 1994.

She married Robert Jordan in Florida in 1959. He preceded her in death. Also preceding her were four brothers, Jack, Karl, Robert and Pete Jansen; and three sisters, Martha Becker, Shirley Dickey and Jacquie Wicker.

Mary is survived by two sons, Robert Jordan (Pamela) of Vancouver and Tom Jordan (Sandy) of Kelso; a daughter, Jan Shaw (Chris) of Kalama; a sister, Charlene Cox (Bill) of Nampa, Idaho; six grandchildren, Kaydee Harris (Adam), Bea Jordan and Tyson Jordan (Kelly), all of Longview, Jason Jordan and Dustin Jordan (Jamie), both of Kelso, and Sharena Jordan of Woodland; and six great-grandchildren, Reese Harris, and Whitman, Deacon and Kalliste’ Jordan, all of Longview, and Austin and Rylan Jordan, both of Kelso.

Mary was a loving mother and grandmother. She had a quick wit, and was funny and outgoing. She loved spending time with her family and friends, usually playing cards and watching football. Her grandchildren could always spot their grandma in the stands rooting for them during their sporting events. She was supportive of all her children and was their fiercest and loudest cheerleader.

She loved the outdoors. Relaxation to her was pulling weeds, yard work and making sure she cultivated a fantastic beautiful garden for all of her family to enjoy. She leaves a legacy of abundant love and affection for her children, siblings, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A private family service will be held.

Arrangements were entrusted to Steele Chapel at Longview Memorial Park.
