Margaret L. Johnson

Lifelong Longview resident Margaret L. Johnson, 79, was born Dec. 30, 1943, and died Aug 11, 2023.

Margaret was a Mark Morris High School graduate when she married George R. Johnson in Longview Aug. 12, 1961, and became a homemaker.

She was a member of the Longview Eagles, and the Bunco B’s group. She enjoyed camping, fishing, crocheting, quilting, playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Margaret is survived by four children, Bunnie “Mae” (Johnson) and Gary Wall of Toutle, Lenny and Staci Johnson of Titusville, Fla., Lynn (Johnson) and Joey Sluder of Lacey, Wash., and George and Jayd Johnson Jr., of Longview; a sister, Jeanette Vogel Banta of Rainier, Ore.; her best friend, Susie Cooper of Longview; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Johnson Sr.; her parents, Leonard and Vivian Vogel; a son, Ray Johnson; three brothers, Veril, William, and Lyle Vogel; a grandson, Ian Sluder; and a great-granddaughter, Sophia Piccolo.

A funeral service is planned for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, at Steele Chapel. Pallbearers will include Leonard Johnson, George Johnson Jr., Gary Wall Jr., Jason wall, Chase Sluder, Trey Johnson, Jake LaFave, Josh Wulf and Taylor Sluder.
