Doris Williams

On Thursday, August 29, 2019, Doris Elizabeth Williams, much loved mother, grandmother and great-
grandmother passed away at the age of 95.
Doris was born on November 12, 1923 in Battle Creek, MI to Everett and Doris (Leedy) Northway. Her
family moved to Maine and she graduated from Thornton Academy, Saco, ME in 1941. She received her
nursing degree from Community Hospital in Battle Creek, MI in 1947. She worked as a nurse in many
locales: Boston, MA; Pasadena, CA; Monterey, CA; Fort Knox, KY; Charlotte, MI; Anchorage, AK; Saco, ME
to name a few. She moved to Vancouver, WA in 2005. Doris loved her family and was an avid reader,
gardener, and corresponded with long time friends. She regularly attended New Heights Church in
Vancouver.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Doris; brothers, Philip and Theodore; sisters,
Margaret Trask and Janice Northway; and daughter, Patricia Rodriguez.
She is survived by daughters, Mary Hayward and Suzanne (Harry) Roberts, six grandchildren and five
great-grandchildren.
