Annie Beatrice Ferguson

November 9, 1921 — January 23, 2018

Annie Beatrice (Granny)-Hartwell-Kimball-Ferguson
Granny Bea was born November 9, 1921 in Iowa Park, Texas to Nettie and Charlie Hartwell. Annie Beatrice joined half siblings Grace and Charlie, and just over a year later sister Mary Lucille was born. A month after Mary's birth came the loss of their mother Nettie. Before her passing she made their father promise to read the bible to her girls every day, until Bea and Mary were old enough to read the bible for themselves. Charlie then married Vendetta, and a new stepsister Geraldine and half-brother Haskell joined the family. Granny went to elementary school in Crane and Odessa, Texas. In September 1940 Granny married Guy Kimball in Las Cruces, New Mexico. In 1941 Guy Warren Jr. was born followed by Charles Wesley in 1943. Her husband Guy served in the Navy during the war and Gary Haskell was born in San Diego in 1944. Granny heard the gospel preached by Minnie Christie and Jeanette Munn during the time she was living in San Diego. Granny professed in 1945. She faithfully took herself and three babies to meetings, which involved a short ferry ride across San Diego Bay and a connecting bus. Finally in September of 1946, Granny gave birth to a baby girl Mary Ellen.
Eventually, Granny moved to Pineville, Louisiana where she raised the family. While in Louisiana, Granny worked out of the home in a photography shop and also as a caregiver at Pinecrest. Granny married Woodrow Ferguson in 1973 and moved to Clover, South Carolina. After Woodrow's death Granny lived with her sons Charles (Dianne) in South Carolina, Gary (Jo) in Florida and granddaughter Charlotte (Brett) Hockersmith in Pineville, Louisiana. Later Granny moved to Washington State to live with daughter Mary Ellen. Most recently, Granny Bea and Mary resided with Debbie (Lloyd) Parsons in Lewistown, MT.
Granny loved to cook and took fresh loaves of bread and pies to convention preps. Her pecan pie was a favorite. But, most importantly, Granny will be remembered for her zeal of Truth and her desire to share her faith with others. She kept a worldwide correspondence and many will miss her letters of encouragement.
Granny was preceded in death by sons, Guy, Charles, Gary and stepson Ronald Ferguson. Granny was survived by her daughter Mary Ellen Hallstrom of Ridgefield, WA, 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, 5 Ferguson stepchildren and their families. Granny will be missed by her numerous nieces and nephews.
